Drama Club Officer Profiles

Nicole Sugarman

Hey! I'm Nicole Sugarman and I am the J.P. Taravella Drama Club President! I have been performing since I was 6 years old and I love it more than anything else in the world. I am looking forward to an amazing year filled with lots of love and laughter! Please feel free to come to me with any suggestions or questions you may have! Troupe 3502 forever!

Libby D'Orvilliers

Vice President

Bonjour! I am Libby D'Orvilliers and I am J.P. Taravella's Drama Club Vice President! Theatre has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. You may have seen me last year serving as Treasurer. Other than participating in as many theatre activities as possible, some of my other passions include: doing Pilates and yoga, writing and sharing poetry, experimenting in the fashion world, and enjoying good music. I cannot wait to hear all of your ideas and excitement about Taravella's theatre program!

Amanda Gonzalez

Tech Representative

Hey guys! I am Amanda Gonazlez and I am JP Taravella's Drama Club Tech Representative. I have been involved in the technical side of theatre ever since I was 11 years old, and it quickly became a passion of mine. I am looking forward to creating a stronger relationship between actors and techies alike. My goal is to not only strengthen our existing teams, but to also promote and increase our tech membership. My other interests include anything and everything having to do with marine life. I am looking forward to a very positive and "Constructive" year. ;-)

Hunter Quinn

Hello all! My name is Hunter Quinn and I am your Publicist for the 2019-2020 school year! I first started drama when I was only 11 years old enrolled in a Drama 1 class and I have absolutely loved it ever since. Currently, I am scheduled to be in JPT's Musical Theatre class and Theatre 4. Outside of da club, I like to go to the gym, take partially cringe worthy selfies, and hang out with my friends. I am so excited for this upcoming year and please do NOT be afraid to ask any questions. We're all welcoming people here. :)

Nicolas Vela

Hi there Drama Club friends! It's Nick Vela, your J.P.T. Drama Club Treasurer. I began my drama journey in 6th grade at Ramblewood Middle and have not stopped since. I am currently a District 7 Jr. Representative and Cappies Critic. Besides drama, I thoroughly enjoy activities such as drawing, coloring, calligraphy, sleeping, eating, and (most importantly) "mathing". I am extremely excited for this new year and can't wait to see what Drama Club will do next.

Kayla LaCerra

Recording Secretary

Hello friends! I'm Kayla, your Drama Club Secretary! This is my second year as Secretary and I'm even more excited than I was last year! I've been involved in drama for 9 years and its become my whole life! When I'm not doing drama, I'm most likely in Disney because I have a really bad obsession with Disney! I also have an obsession with socks so make sure you check out what socks I'm wearing! I'm SUPER excited for this year and I hope you all are too! :)

Leah Tomas

Heyo! I'm Leah, your favorite dinosaur enthusiast and 2019-2020 Drama Club Historian! My theater addiction began at 7 years old on the J.P. Taravella stage, but the arts are contagious among my family and have always been an integral part of my life. I can often be found shrieking showtunes at the top of my lungs in the drama room, and aimlessly wandering the halls in a caffeine-induced trance between classes. I'm super excited to make friends with all of you this year and do fun drama things. Come find me and tell me your favorite color!

2019-2020 Taravella Show Season

(Drumroll Please!)

Edges is a work of musical theatre by Pasek & Paul. It is a song cycle (A collection of songs with a common theme.)  about coming of age, growth, and self-discovery. Pasek & Paul wrote this musical in 2005 as musical theatre undergraduates when they were unhappy with the roles they were assigned in the piece they were working on. Be ready early in the school year because JPT Drama's Musical Theatre class will be performing this show ONE NIGHT ONLY on September 25th!

Blithe Spirit is a comic play by Noël Coward. The play concerns the socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the séance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles's marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost. Come see this hilarious play during early Novemeber! You won't regret it!

You all know him, and you all LOVE him... its the one and only Dr. SEUSS! Seussical is a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based off of children's stories written by Dr. Seuss. The main plot, however, is carried by the original story "Horton Hears a Who!" Come on down in late February to see J.P.T. Drama in this fantastic show that everybody including children, teens, and even adults can enjoy!

Proposing is our one-act play that JPT Drama will be taking to the Districts competition this year!
